Error Message Please Advise...

Thread needs solution

I can't backup because I get an error message (see attachment.) I put it in the knowledge base and there is nothing on it.

The weird part is this is not a scheduled task. I never schedule tasks...

This program - Acronis - and their constantly bothering me about "Scheduling" has always been a thorn in my side. I just want to execute a backup.

I can't get it to do anything...

Please advise...

Thanks,
Sandy

That fixed it!! In MSCONFIG the service wasn't running. I didn't think I needed it because I don't ever schedule anything - then I forgot I did that...

Weird because I put the error message in knowledge base but came back with nothing..

But guess what??? I decided to try and do the backup from the rescue CD (the ISO burn.) I have tried this in the past with versions TI 10 and TI 11 - and a backup using the rescue CD (even ISO) would take considerably longer (like HOURS longer) than doing it from Windows (unless you have a Vista PE - which I made later for the computer running TI 10. It was you that helped me do it.) I was expecting the same result - a backup using Acronis 2010 rescue CD that took forever. It FLEW - it was done with 48GB in 50 minutes - way faster than using Acronis 2010 from Windows. Killer!

And the best part - The CD version is a more "streamlined" - the log is just that - a "log." No weirdness... like scheduled, unscheduled, idle tasks you have no idea how and why they are there - so you delete them, and wonder why there is nothing in the log - because those were "executed" tasks?? I hate the "log" part of the program. I have no idea what all that "stuff" (insert cra*) is for - it just confuses things. Just give me a log that tells me what I've done. Period.

So from now on I will use the rescue CD for backup - normally I just used it for restore...

But once again - thanks for helping me out. You always have the answer! MVP is an understatement!! : )

Bests,
Sandy

I wanted the backup because I have Office 2010 - so excited!!! (but am no novice - I know stuff can go wrong - thus I had to have a full image backup before I install.)
