error when backup task periodically - ok when runninf manually
Hello,
I have the strange situation:
I created several tasks and I get errors, if I want the tasks to be run periodically (e.g. weekly). Then I get every time the logs:
-info: file i/o error
-info: system canno find path specified
-error: Ereignis-Code: 0x000B03E9+0x0004000F+0x00040007+0x00000000+0x00000000+0x0000FFF0+0x00000000
-error: Ereignis-Code: 0x00640005
This happens in all combinations of planning/folders/filenames...
But, If I run the same task not peridically but manually, it works! Even if I run it several times from the task monitor.
The search with codes above didn't find something for my situations.
Please help.
I run win 7 ultimate, update to NAS.
Regards,
Jens Becher

Hello Oleg,
thank you for your help.
Unfortunately It still seems not not work. I used a full UNC path as you mentioned (see pic 1).
It results in the same error.
But If I got the the same task, edit it and set planning to manually, I will run immediately.
IMHO this means that neither there is a problem with path nor with authorities, because the only thing I changed was the planning.
Please help.
Thanks and best regards,
Jens

Jens,
Does scheduling a task to an internal drive or partition work or fail?

Hello all,'
Thank you for posting.
Jens,
Could you please follow the advice provided by Colin and edit the task specifying your internal or external hard drive as the destination location for the backup? This will help to localize the issue.
Have you tried to map the drive using the batch file? Please let us know the results.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.

Hello Oleg,
sceduling a task to internal drive works. I used the same parameters like the job which canceled
Actually I'll try it with the batch files, but it doesn't run well in my environment. I'll inform you if I got restults.

Jens

Hello Jens,
Thank you for your reply.
If the backup task with the batch file still fails, please obtain the log file of the failed operation and attach to your next post.
- Launch the program;
- Tasks and logs, Log;
- Choose the log entry which contains errors and make right-click on it;
- Select save option and specify the desired location for the log file to save to;
- Provide us with the log file.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you.

Hello Oleg, hello Colin,
sucess!
I got the backup with the batch file runnning (don't know what was the error here-after reboot it runs), and now the backup is possible even when the task is sceduled!
Actually I have both things running, I backup to the NAS via URN \\...\.... as well as running the batch files before and after the backup task which will log on a driveto nas (and assign drive via net use Y: \\...\.... password /user:...) and log off from nas (net use Y: /delete).
And it still works. :-)
Last question here: should I do only one, i.e. using urn OR using batch files or is it ok to do both?
Best regards,
Jens

Hello Jens,
Thank you for the good news.
If the program works now, it is preferable to leave everything as it is.
From the technical point of view, you should use either the full UNC path or the batch file, but if you use both solutions, nothing bad will happen.
Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.
