Thread needs solution

Hi,

Windows7, SP1
True Image Home 2014 Premium - Build 6673
-----------------------------------------------------------
Error: The optional value is null
Event code: 0x006400D0+0x00AC0001

I get this error message when I try to edit non-stop backup settings.

Changes do not get saved.

Thanks.

Have you deleted any backup archives recently? If so, did you delete from within the TI app or using Windows Explorer? If you deleted a backup .tib file using Windows Explorer this is probably the root of your problem. You should only delete .tib files using the TI app. Your fix would be to delete the backup task and create a new one and you may also need to archives database file.

Here is what I've done.
I needed to change the backup target.

Stop the NSB service. If TrueImage.exe is running, kill it

Then in the registry find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Acronis\File CDP Service\Settings\Sessions
Note: I'm using W8.1 64bits; with a 32bits system, I guess the 'Wow6432Node' goes away

You should see a key corresponding to the Acronis ID of you backup. You can check this ID by looking at your backup target (you'll need to check that your explorer can see hidden files) : (backup target)\Time Explorer Storage\(Acronis ID)

Into that key, you'll have to edit these two values: 'BaseArchive' and 'CdpArchive'
Please note that if you're using a backup target on the network you HAVE to use its name for a mapped drive will NOT work.
For example, if you have your drive Z: mapped to \\myNAS\myBackupFolder, you cannot use Z: for 'BaseArchive' and 'CdpArchive' as upon restart TIB will get confused and will restore the old settings. So you have to use \\myNAS\myBackupFolder

If you not interested in changing the backup target, you can still edit other settings. For example, the exclude list is stored in the value 'Excludes'

Restart the NSB service and launch TrueImage: you should see your settings updated. Please note that NSB will be started. If you'd like to check everything before letting NSB run, my guess would be to launch TrueImage, check everything and then retart the NSB service (haven't tried it though)

Hope it helps
