Ever since I upgraded to 7119, my Acronis True Image Home isn't working
I had a working version of 2012, but it suggested that I update, so I did update to 7119. It appeared to be a successful update, but whenever I try to open the program it look like it starts to load, but nothing comes up. I've been trying to uninstall and re-install the older version, but it's still not working.
It's really annoying that I need to pay to speak or chat with someone as this isn't really my fault.
Please can someone help?
Thanks,
O

Don't upgrade to build # 7119. I did and on one of my laptops, ATIH 2012 is not starting anymore... I have recovered using my latest backup.

I never even heard the courtesy of a reply from an Acronis rep or somebody monitoring the forum. It has been well over three weeks (probably more) since my Acronis Program stopped working due to their faulty update. You would think that Acronis would make an attempt to contact their customers to let them know they are aware of the problem and are attempting to fix the problem. But I haven't heard anything what-so-ever.
I am just going to uninstall Acronis Products altogether from my computer and use a different company for now on for back ups. Ironically I did get a new email from Acronis trying to sell me a new Acronis product or version the other day. They are certainly busy trying sell you new stuff, but not have the courtesy, time, or customer care to take care of the customers they already have! I had previously bought six different versions from Acronis. Go figure! Now they just lost a customer due to faulty software and no "free" customer care to help correct their own defective products!!!!!!!! I'm sure I'm not the only one switching brands!!

I would suggest downloading the installation file for b7119 from your account and then run a repair install.
The insitu install sometimes doesn't update file in use.

Since I can't get Acronis to work, I am trying to uninstall it completely! I went thru the uninstall process, checked all three boxes and tried to uninstall completely, so I thought. (It even stated it was uninstalled!) However, I am still getting errors message even after a fresh reboot. One of the errors was: Monitor for Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Didn't get that one fixed yet. I also got another error that had something to do with Acronis Non Stop Back up Service, but I went into services and disabled it.
Then I tried to delete the Acronis Folder under C:\Program Files\Acronis, but it states access denied! When I searched on the Internet, it states to go Acronis for a clean up file. When I click on the web links provided:
You can use the cleanup utility here.

Acronis states :
Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.
Go figure, it is my computer but they are denying access to fix it! All I want to do is uninstall this crappy program that I paid good money for and doesn't work. If I can't get it to uninstall properly, not only will I not recommend it, but I will tell everybody I know never ever use Acronis products! FYI: I get a lot of people asking me about computer programs and which are the best and which to avoid!
This is absolutely ridiculous that I can't even uninstall the program properly using their own uninstall feature!

The link you found on the internet is outdated. The correct link to the cleanup utility is: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876. Be sure that the cleanup utility does not reboot your system until your look at and edit (if necessary) the registry items mentioned before restarting. The current release of 2012 is build 7133. If you wish to try and get it installed and running, be sure to download the current version from your Acronis account.

I tried the Clean up Utility and I now got the BSOD with my Windows XP. I can not boot at all into Windows, command prompt, or even in Safe Mode. I am so....... aggravated I don't know where to turn. This Acronis True Image program has been an absolute nightmare. If I would have known what I know now, I wouldn't have installed it on my main PC, even if Acronis paid me to! (The reverse of me paying them.) Unbelievable, the amount of time I have spent so far on trying to correct this issue and now I can't even do anything on my PC.
Please advise on how to get beyond the BSOD since I can't even get into Safe Mode now!

Did you do any registry edits before letting the cleanup utility restart your system? If so, what changes did you make?
I have had this happen and had to use a bootable utility CD/DVD and perform offline registry edits to get my system up and running. This often occurs if the system is trying to load a driver that no longer exists and is required for proper booting. An offline registry editor could be used to make the necessary corrections to the registry.

Thanks for your reply. I'll try using a Windows CD to see if that will work without re-installing Windows and losing all my data!

You will need something else other than the Windows disk, something like Hiren's boot disk

Windows CD actually did the trick. I just did a repair rather than a full install. It took a long time. It requested for Acronis files that I didn't have, so I just bypassed them.
I have now gotten past the BSOD now, but files aren't updated in programs like Internet Explorer, etc. So I am doing a Norton 360 restore that I had just backed up before I uninstalled. Hopefully that will go smoothly and I will be back to where I started. I probably will just leave Acronis on my computer if it gets restored and just not use it!
Thanks for the suggestions.
