Exceedingly slow image creation!

Thread needs solution

I have a system with one small 30GB SSD drive & a second drive which is a 240GB SATA
drive. I am running Windows XP on the SSD drive. For some unknown reason it takes forever to
create an image of the SSD drive-6 hours. The SSD drive is only half full & I have been using
the normal compression setting for the image. Also, I have been booting off my CD drive and have placed the image on my partitioned SATA drive. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Dave,

Have you tried the same backup using the installed Windows version of True Image 2013?

It is possible that the Linux based Rescue Media does not have proper support for the controllers in your computer.

Do you own, and have, any older versions of True Image (bootable Rescue Media) to try?

Which version and build are you using (2013 build 5551 or build 6514)?

Are you by any chance using sector-by-sector backup method as well as have validation turned on?

Have you tried to backup the SSD using the Rescue Media to an external drive (USB / eSATA)?
