External hard disk backups

Thread needs solution

I use TI Home for normal incremental backup to a separate internal HDD. For added offsite security, I then manually copy the contents of the HDD to an external HDD connected by esata.
1. Will TI recover data from the external HDD as normal?
2. Should I use TI to backup a disk image of the internal to the external, or is the manual copy method ok?
Thanks

The manual copy should be fine. I do that with some of my backups too.

As long as TI can see the eSATA drive okay, it should be able to restore from it. You could boot to the TI CD and make sure TI can see all the drives correctly and successfully validate the image.

As MudCrab has suggested, boot from TI Rescue CD and validate at least one of the backups on the external drive. Anytime you copy or move an archive to a new location, it is a prudent safety measure to make sure the file will pass validation.
