Extracting Individual Files From Image Backup using the Windows Plug-in

Thread needs solution

I am extracting indiviual files from a TIH 2012 image backup. A 12 GB Outlook.PST file to be exact. The process starts and get to 10 minutes 25 seconds left and then says that the disk is out of space. The drive that this is being copied to is the same drive that has the image. The drive has over 70 GB in free space available.

I did not see any file limits when using the Windows Plug-In to extract files from and image backup. In fact it worked successfully for a 5.6 GB Pictures folder with no problems, so I know the "technique" works. However, this has failed with the exact same amount of time left on three different attempts copying the outlook.pst file to a file folder and to the root directory of the drive.

Any ideas why I may be having this issue with the file. Is it the 12 GB file size? Do you has any suggestions for how to get this file out of the archive?

Hello Milton,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. Thanks a lot for your question, I'll be glad to address it.

During such operations with the backup as the one you're performing, Acronis True Image Home 2012 creates a temporary copy of the backup just in case of any technical issues that might corrupt the backup. Thus the space used on that drive is equal 2 sizes of the backup and + 12 Gb of the *.pst file. We would advise you to move
