Extreme big Drive-Images
Hi,
I'm working with TI Home 2010 already a longer time, using always a boot-CD.
A few weeks ago a re-partitioned my first physical HD enlarging the c:-drive vom 20 GB to 50 GB, the data quantity remained at about 12 GB.
Before repartitioning I always got tib-files (saved on a separate physical disk!) of about 3,5 to 3,7 GB, always only saving the used disk space, not sector by sector. After repartitioning my first backup resulted in a tib-file of about 34-35 GB and needed a lot of time. This size was unacceptable for me and I did it again. And now - I don't know why - the resulting tib-file had a size of about 3,6 GB, which was okay for me.
So far so good.
Yesterday I again wanted to make a backup of the c:-drive (after having changed some installations, removed some and installed other programs) with again about 12 GB data.
And now again (I did various tries) all my "tibs" have size of about 35 GB although I'm saving only the used disk-space of about 12 GB.
As I'm always booting from a boot-CD and as I NEVER have changed any optional settings I don't understand why this happens and how to change it.
Does anyone out there have an idea or really know what happened and what I can do to again get tib-files of only about 3,6 GB ???
1000 thanks in advance for your hints.
Peter
