Failed to check snapman drive error

Thread needs solution

Case ID : 01489244

History: After upgrade to True Image Home 12, I could not detect drives. I was asked by Acronis Support to install acronis drive snap api. I installed it still no detection of my local drives. I was asked to un-install True Image Home 2012 and reinstall it. I used clean up utility to uninstall. I reinstalled True Image Home 12 without a problem. Install indicated successful install. When I open True Image Home 12 I get now message " Failed to check snapman driver". I reinstalled acronis drive snap api. I am still getting the same message "Failed to check snapman driver" . Event code: 0x0064000B+0x00AC003B+0x00AC003A

What is next? I am unable to use back up software.

I have backed my drive with disk wizard. Now I would like to use Acronis True Image 2012. I do not have chat capability. It says my support is expired.

Any help is appreciated.

Baal,

Most likely your registry has been messed up. Try to fix the snapman installation by following the instructions here: http://kb.acronis.com/content/1620

Hello Pat,

I used your link for instructions to edit registry but nothing that was displayed in your instruction was showing in my registry. Therefore there was nothing to edit. So I am back to square one. Still the same message " Failed to check snapman driver". What's next?

Things to try.

My suggestion is to uninstall using the control panel "uninstall a program" and then run the cleanup utility and reboot. After that please see the following forum.acronis.com/forum/27907 for steps and information about carefully removing the device drivers from your registry. Once your are sure the registry entries have been fully cleaned of Acronis device drivers, Install ATIH2012 again. There is an updated SnapAPI for ATIH2012 that can also be installed after installation that works better than the one installed during installation for some people. It is located here: kb.acronis.com/content/1515 be sure to download SnapAPI 685. I also download and install the updated scheduler found here: kb.acronis.com/content/1518, as well as a patch for SnapAPI for hangs on some systems found here: kb.acronis.com/content/1863. I hope this helps.

I am having the same issue with Acronis 2013

I get a message saying failed to check snapman driver.  please reinstall true image

I am getting event code Event code: 0x0064000B+0x00AC003B+0x00BE0082

I am using win10 and had to reinstall for the umpteeth tiime, as I have had to reinstall windows many times.  As an aside, it also says I am using it on two computers but I only use it as one.  I  want to make sure that won't be a licensing issue down the road.

Rob, unfortunately ATIH 2013 is not supported for use with Windows 10 and using it with that version of Windows may give unpredictable errors.  Only ATIH 2015 and 2016 are supported for use with Windows 10.
