Failed to exclusively access backup message in log file
I created Acronis 2015 Quarterly backup job for my neighbor that creates a full image back of her entire PC to an external hard drive “H:\Quarterly Backups\Carolyn’s Pavilion Quarterly Backup”. This seem to run fine. I dismounted this external hard drive “H” and store it off-site in my fireproof safe.
I then created a Monthly backup job that backs up my neighbor’s entire PC the last Sunday of every month to an external hard drive “G:\My Backups\Carolyn’s Monthly” that always remains connected to her laptop. I specified it to keep no more than 3 versions of backups.
When this second job runs, it seems to perform the backup, verified the backup and does this “Consolidate Backup Archive Location” (whatever this means).
Then the log file shows “Failed to exclusively access backup “H:\Quarterly Backups\Carolyn’s Pavilion Quarterly Backup during consolidation”. “Make sure the backup file is not opened in other applications”. “The specific file path does not exist”.
Why this first job “H:\Quarterly Backups\Carolyn’s Pavilion Quarterly Backup” is even referenced in this second job is beyond me. Why is it even trying to do anything with the Drive “H” backup? This external hard drive “H” is not even attached to the computer (it physically resides in a safe). Where is Acronis getting this information about the “H” drive backup? I even removed both Acronis backup job from the list and only re-created the monthly backup job and it still tries to do something with this backup on drive “H”.
What is going on? I just want to run this simple monthly backup job that has nothing to do with the quarterly backup.
