failed to initialize

Thread needs solution

Hi
I am trying to run a backup but it has started giving me the error:
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). CLock OK to terminate...
TrueImageHomeNotify.exe

I cannot run tasks manually either, which is why I am trying to schedule them.
If I right click on the task and select Start Now, I get the same error.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

You might check of there's a later build available. From the build, it's probably TI 2009. I know the English version has a later build (9,809).

Have you tried uninstalling TI and reinstalling it?

If it was working properly before and suddenly it's not, do you remember what changes were made to the computer (new programs installed, updates, hardware changes, etc.)?

It might also help to know what OS and service pack level of Windows you're using.

There doesn;t seem to be an update button in TI Home so no idea how to update?
It's Home 2009.
I haven't changed anything on the computer.
It's Windows OS3.
I could reinstall - is there a link somewhere?

You would need to log into your Acronis account and see if there's a more current build available to download.

Do you mean Windows XP SP3?

You can try reinstalling TI or installing the updated build (if available) over the existing installation or you can uninstall TI (from the Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs) and then reinstall TI. If that doesn't work, you may need to use the Acronis Clean Up Utility to completely remove TI and then install the latest build.

Customer service aren't responding and when I tried registering, it said my serial was already registered.

Hello all,

First of all I'd like to thank MudCrab for his valuable help.

Abba Abba, let me help you to resolve this situation.

I've just checked your serial number for Acronis True Image 2009 Home and indeed it is registered to another person. Could you please send me a Private Message with any kind of purchase confirmation (invoice or receipt) to figure out what went wrong with the registration?

As MudCrab mentioned, most likely the complete re-installation of the software should fix the issue. It seems that some Acronis modules weren't registered correctly during your initial install and this caused the error.

Please reply to this thread or send me a Private Message, I'll be glad to assist you.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you.
