Failed to open backup xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. It may be inconsistent or corrupted.
Hi,
I've been running incremental partition backups to an external drive (500gb WD Passport) for six weeks or so. Full version every seven days. There's not a lot on the source drives yet and the full versions (max compression) have been running at < 50Gb.
I set it to start deleting stuff when 400 Gb exceeded. This worked fine "first" time - I saw the 1st full version and it's increments removed. My daily increments continued to worked fine. The oldest file in the backup set was:-
(1)My partitions_full_b2_s1_v1.tib
Today, full version kicks-in again. Think I'd upped the available size to 420Gb in the meantime but anyway the file above remains. At the end of the backup I get an error message (attached) that I end-up cancelling after looking at the knowledge base:-
http://kb.acronis.com/content/37285?nocache=1
The file [ (1)My partitions_inc_b1_s2_v1-2.tib ] certainly doesn't exist - Acronis deleted it. Strange this error didn't kick in "last week" when that file was already gone, but seems it's mis-remembering something!
As is the way of these things, my first problem occurs more than 30 days after purchase. IMO, they've got serial numbers etc, so should be possible to offer "30 days unlimited, 5 in the first year". But hey ho. So:-
1. Should I be worried (don't think so)?
2. How do I get rid of this annoying message?
Thanks,
Simon
