Failed to Read data--operation successful?

Thread needs solution

2010 Home

I'm attaching the log from last nights image. Could someone please explain how the log can report several instances of 'failed to read' and yet, at the end, state that the backup image was successful?

I don't know why it declares the backup successful. Can you validate it?
Run chkdsk /r on each partition on the disk where the snapshot manager didn't work.

I ran Properties (on the only drive, drive C), error checking with both corrective boxes clicked. Are you saying that chksk /r(epair) is somehow significantly different than the Win7 default disk corrective utility?

Plus, take a look at the attached image--I'm only including the second which is the actual boot and data partition. The first is associated with the factory installed Intel turbo nonsense that I do believe to be corrupt on some way but a full disk repair never finds any problems.

Mark,

No, if you click both boxes you got it right.

Can you disable the Turbo Cache?

Can you try to backup from the recovery CD?

I just did and will report back on the result.

This partition has been a problem for a while now. When I changed hard drives that partition came along with the image since at the time I had selected the entire drive for backup with the smaller drive. If the partition is still a problem, I will delete it.
