Failing because file is missing (or unable to create file).

Thread needs solution

Using build 6613 on Windows 8.1 64bit

I have had this problem several times. After running backups successfully for days or weeks, suddenly get a failure because a file is missing. The missing name appears to be what it would call the new backup so presumably the error means it is having trouble creating it in the first place. I then get the problem noted elsewhere of being able to stop the backup (involving removing the script and having to recreate the backup settings).

The drive in question is an internal drive, so always available, and there are no issues with space on the drive. What is causing this to happen?

Backups need to be reliable and at the moment I am losing confidence in them. If there are issues with the backup process how can I be sure that recovery would work? Also this is unneccessary hassle.

One of the things I would do is to check each partition on both disks for file errors or disk errors.
I do this about every six months or so--or anytime following a forced shutdown where you have to pull the cord on a runnig system.
