Failure on backup deletion

Thread needs solution

Hi all

I'm running into a application error when trying to delete an "old"/unneeded backup, through the "backup explorer". In my case it's a custom differential backup: 1full + 3 diffs. I've chosen to do a manual delete, as the last time automatic backup happened, my whole backup scheme became inaccessible and I had to reimport it piece by piece.

So, if I try to delete a previous diff backup, I get following error: see attached image.

BUT when I validate that backup, application can access the files, and I can also brows through the content of that backup. So the error raised is misleading and not the real cause of issue.

On the other hand, manually deleting from disk is not an option, as ATI would still have references to the backup and try to access it, with error messages as result, base on my experience.

Anyone run into it before and know what it issue is?

Thanks

Is the target destination of S:\shiny\add_diff_b3_s6_v1.tib a correct path?
Is S a network?

Based on your scheme of full+ 3 diff, you should never have a S6 backup slice.

Are you using any form of consolidation, either manually or via the setting of "elapsed days" or "disk size limitation"?

Perhaps these two links listed below can help.
