Hello

Recently, I bought a Family pack of TIH + PP.
- On one PC, I installed the English version.
- On two PCs, I installed the German version for testing and used the product key then to get a productive version.

Later, I detected that the two versions support different keybord layouts in some situations. This is not really very practical. Thus, I would like to move alle installations to the German version.
- Can I simply install the German test version over the English version and then use the product key?
- Or should I deinstall the English version first?

Thank you for bringing this question up.

We strongly recommend to remove the first installation of Acronis True Image Home 2012, before installing a German version. I would also advise you to follow the instructions in this KB article for the uninstallation.

Hello Yana

Thank you for advising me how to proceed for replacing the English with the German version of TIH12 under Windows 7.

I translated your notice on a possibly not completely deinstalled English version in killing the idle TIH12 processes in the task manager.
-   After this, deinstallation seems to have worked out successfully.
-   Meanwhile the German version is up and running.

One point might be of some relevance for continuing to use TIH12:   By deinstalling one looses all adminstrative backup data.
-  This is not a true problem since TIH12 finds old backups back anyway.
-  Still, Acronis could complete the deinstallation process with an option not to delete these data ...
