File backup fails to backup all selected files ...!

Thread needs solution

The problem I have is that when I run a file backup it fails to backup all selected folders and files, the procedure in inconsistent but reports no errors. I am running Windows 7 64 and backing up to a removable USB drive. The backup is to a single version scheme. I have checked that all files and folders are selected (ticked), but when I inspect the tib, some folders and files are missing. Validation confirms the integrity of the backup; but the backup is clearly incomplete. What is happening here? I cannot afford not to have confidence in my data backups!

What types of folder or files are missing?

So that you know, validation just ensures the integrity of the backup file, not the fidelity to the data being backed up.

They are data folders including Word documents and folders including my collection of TrueType and OpenType fonts. It seems that where a folder is backed up, then it is complete; but, sometimes, and it would seem fairly frequently, a folder and all its files is not backed up. This just doesn't make sense to me. I realised that validation was an integrity check, thanks - I thought at first that there might be something wrong with the display of the contents of the tib. I have now done two backups and each time the same folder/files are missing. I am perplexed!

We are experiencing exactly the same problem.

The backup runs fine, no errors or warnings, but some directories and files are simply not backed up.
If we run a filebackup, some of the directories are not backed up.
If we run a complete backup on the machine the files are on, the same directories will be missing from that backup as well.
No warnings, no exclusions, no errors in the log.

This is a HUGE issue for us and MUST be resolved! We can not use and endorse a backup-solution that simply ignores some random files without warning!

This is happening to me as well.  I don't see a solution posted.  Running trial version on Windows 10 backing up to removable USB Seagate disk.  Half the folders on my networked drive are missing from the backup.

Is there a solution/explanation somewhere?

I notice when I open the application and click on the Files and Folders, I drill down to the network folder and I don't see anything checked that I had previously checked.  This is not the case with files on the C: drive.  Folders previously checked are showing up checked.

I like the product, but cannot purchase the full version with these outstanding issues.

Dennis, welcome to these forums but please note that you have posted your problem to a forum for obsolete Acronis products and I doubt that you have a Trial version of any such product.

If your trial product is for Acronis True Image 2017, then please post in that forum.

More information will be needed to be able to understand what your problem may be and perhaps the easiest way to provide that information is by creating an Acronis System Report and post the zip file this creates to the forum as an attachment.   See screen shot of menu option for this.
