File backup from version 2014

Thread needs solution

I perform a daily file backup with the full backup occuring on a Saturday and incremental backups to the next full.  Recently I was forced to do a system backup to May 31, 2017.  My last file backup was July 17, 2017 with the full backup starting July 15,, 2017 and a daily increment after that.

How do I recover the files from my file backup?  All attempts seems to fail.

Thanks

Cancel this request, I believe that I have got it working.  Thanks

OK so the file recovery worked somewhat. After 24 hours my PC still has not recovered. The restore appeared to have worked, but it told me a reboot was required. No it is showing "operations are in progress, please wait" for hours.

Checking the recovered files from a network computer shows many files with the extension followed by "~",

Looks like I will have to manually shut the PC down.

Any comments?  Thanks

Bryan, if you are recovering the files from a backup image stored out on your network, then this may take longer than if the drive with the image was connected locally.

Files being restored with have longer extensions and if you shutdown before the restore is complete then you will have a cleanup task to remove those temporary files, plus the possibility that some files may not have been fully restored.

I would recommend waiting as long as possible to avoid further issues.
