File or folder "x:\/photos/12" cannot be found in the specified backup.

Thread needs solution

I'm really bummed out right now, and I hoping someone could help me with my issue here.

I realized that some of my files are missing, and I'm trying to recover these selected files from the backup. After selecting the folders I wanted to recover from the tib backup file, a "success" prompt is displayed, yet the log says the process failed.

I expanded the log message, and I got the following message:-

"File or folder "x:\/photos/12" cannot be found in the specified backup."

My backup files reside in X drive, but I think the problem stems from the invalid path "x:\/" when in fact it should be just "x:\".

How do I fix this problem? I'm really hoping someone could share some light on this, because I truly need to recover some important files. I'm using Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Thank you very much in advance.

There are alternate methods that can be used to get your data. You can alternately use the Explore feature or the Mount feature. The mount feature is an option from within the program but lets use the Explore feature.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to your backup file on the X drive. Right click on the *.tib file and choose the Explore option from the Right click menu. Now browse within the backup file until you find your missing files. Then you can use the same procedure as in Windows. You can highlight the files and use the Copy/paste option or you can the Drag/drop method to get copies of your files from the backup onto your computer's hard drive.

Thank you. That helps, but I'm facing another problem with my file recovery process.

Since the problem is a little different, I opened another thread for it: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/12528
