Filling up 250 gb Mobile Hard Drive with Backups

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis since 2009 and have had several communications with Acronis on how to set up my backups so that they don't fill up my 250 gb mobile hard drive. Evidently i don't understand the language that the techs are using because after several deletions of backups and (taking their suggestions on what to do) I still can't get Acronis to stop filling up my drive with backups. If my memory serves me I have tried incremental and (I can't remember the other one). Last night my Acronis stopped in the middle of a backup and told me that I had another 195 gb of backups to delete. Can anybody tell me how to get Acronis to make 1 backup and then update that backup on a schedule that I alread have in place (3 times a week). I swear, I'm not stupid. I have been doing tech support for an accounting program for 15 years. The combination of the language in the program about what happens with the various backups and the language the techs use has me at a loss. Can anybody put all this in plain language for me and then forward it to Acronis. I have no problem with someone telling me to do this, then do this, and then this. Thank you.

This could easily be achieved using Chain2Gen (C2G) which is a helper program for TrueImageHome (TIH). C2G was written by forum contributor MVP Oracledba

TrueImage runs the tasks which does the scheduling and creates the backups, whereas, C2G provides the controls on when the full backup should be created. or how many to be retained. C2G offers many choices. You are in complete control. Mostly set it and forget it--except for occasionally confirmatin checks to see that all is well.
