Finding the right driver for Universal Restore
Hi everyone,
In order to successfully proceed with the universal restore feature, one has to retrieve the motherboard driver in order to eventually inject it during the restore process.
My question is when I search for it on the Web, is this driver being referred to as ''processor driver'' and/or ''chipset driver''???
In other words , are drivers for motherboard, chipset, processors the same thing ?
Thanks.

Ok thanks,
And how can I get it from the mfg?
I just could not find ''chipset driver''.
Here's my mobo specs:
GeForce7050M-M (CPU 1)

The drivers for your chip set may be dependent on your OS. I found these http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOTHERBOARD/Nvidia/ECS-GeForce7050M-M-…. See this page for details on your MB http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=8…

Are you actually replacing the MB? Or just updating the HD. If the HD you don't need to use universal restore.

I have found that you can get the MB chipset drivers prior to the universal install and the drivers come in an exe file extension. How would you direct the universal install to find a driver that is a part of many drivers and is exe file extension?
Thanks

Drivers have to be in a .inf file. I'm not aware of any ability of TI to use .exe files.

You have to go to the MB manufacturers web site and find the chip set drivers for your OS. Is the MB you posted the new MB?
