Formatting DVD+/-RWs before backup

Thread needs solution

Please forgive if asked and answered, and, if so, please point to the relevant thread(s)/FAQs.

When using TIv11, I used do a daily full backup of my main data drive to DVD+RWs and DVD-RWs. If the DVD contained a previous backup (as it frequently did, since I rotated these DVDs on a 20-day cycle), TIv11 used offer me the opportunity to format the DVD prior to writing to it.

It seems that TI2010 does not offer me this functionality, unless I am missing something. It asks me to insert the 1st media, but does not allow me to either format the DVD, or to delete the *.tib file already on the DVD. Could someone please tell me how I might prepare a written-to DVD prior to backing up to it?
TIA
Jimmy

Hello James,

Let me assist you.

Actually, this feature should work in Acronis True Image Home 2010.

As far as I understand, in your case you've asked for the first media and then Acronis True Image just reports that the disk is full and won't continue? If so, we need some additional information from you to investigate the issue and to provide you with a solution.

Please collect AcronisInfo output, create a screen shot of the error message and submit a request to support.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
