Free Disk Space Threshold - No Message

Thread needs solution

I'm running ATI 2015 build 6525 and Windows 8.1. Last night about 30 minutes after a scheduled full backup had started I noticed that the available free space on my external drive was inadequate for the backup. Although I have notifications turned on for my free disk space threshold, there was no message. All I saw was the message "Calculating time remaining". I tried to stop the backup, but had to close the Acronis True Image application in order to stop it.

I deleted a large file on the external drive, started ATI, and the backup automatically started. This morning, 9 hours later, I had the "Calculating time remaining" message and no progress on the progress bar. I tried to stop the backup, but had to close the application again. I rebooted to be certain ATI had stopped. Because I thought I still might have a space problem on the external drive I checked the size of my last couple of backups. I needed to free up more space, and I deleted enough space to hold two backup files. I started ATI again, it issued a message about starting the backup at a specific time, and the backup started and ran to completion.

The manual states that a message will be issued giving three options if the free space threshold is reached and the message will be issued even if the threshold occurs during a backup run. My free disk threshold is 200 MB. For the first backup run my free space was 60.23GB, for the second attempt it was 120.91GB, and for the backup that worked this morning the backup file was 132.27GB. Why didn't I get a message during the backup runs for inadequate free disk space? Does STOP work when you try to stop a backup?
