Freezing during Cloning
Greetings all. I am using TI9 Home to clone all the drives as a safety measure and put them away for safekeeping. I have successfully done two laptops (one a Lenovo Thinkpad with a recovery partition, and an old Acer). I went from an 80 Gb drive on the Lenovo to a 250 Gb, and then installed and tested the new drive. Successful boot.
Anyway, I am now trying to do my son's desktop. Dell GX280, single primary partition, 250 Gb. Nothing fancy or special. In each case, I have used the rescue CD in safe mode/manual mode. On the Dell desktop, I keep getting a system freeze with roughly 1 hour remaining out of 3 hours total clone time. I can't figure it out. One thing I just realized is that I have not disconnected the USB printer... could that be a problem? I am using a usb to sata dock. It worked great with the Lenovo and starts out fine on the dell.
Should I disconnect the usb printer? The system just freezes solid requiring power off via the front panel. The system boots normally after with no problems. Any ideas??

I have just purchased Acronis and am frantically trying to clone my hard drive. Its RAID counterpart drive failed, and so I am trying to clone the surviving drive to a Western Digital external hard drive.
When I proceed with cloning, the message window simply says "Queued" and the status bar remains blank, even afte a couple of hours. When initially started the external drive is running, but after a period of time it is no longer running.
What gives here? As a new purchaser of Acronis, I'm certainly not impressed with the program since it is not working.
