Full backup on 1st, incremental in between - how?

Thread needs solution

Hi, how can I / is it possible, to take a full backup on 1st of the month with incrementals in between?

Thanks,

The ATI scheduler doesn't allow you to choose a specific date to do a full backup. The easiest way is to do a daily (or weekly) backup and to request a new full after 30 incrementals (or 3 incrementals, respectively).

A more sophisticated solution is to create a batch command file that moves all the existing TIB files of the backup directory on the first day of the month. You could use Windows task scheduler to run and schedule this batch file.
After it has run, ATI will go about its business and will find out that there is no TIB file left in the directory, it will then create a new full. The drawback is that the internal database of ATI will not see the files moving and therefore will be out of date. The backup information (size, number of versions) should still be accurate though. That said, when you try to restore data from a moved file, ATI will tell you that it cannot find the file. You will have to point ATI to the moved file.
