Funny files after aborted recovery

Thread needs solution

Acronis TrueImage Home 2010 Build 5,055

Among other uses, I utilize this program to transport files from one computer to another.

I was recovering files to computer #2 when there was a sudden shut-down of my system (an unrelated problem). When the system restored, I restarted the recovery operation. But now I note in my various folders a number of files with a peculiar extension.

For example, in the same folder, I have:

Outlook.pst                          Modified 2/6/2010
Outlook.pst~T7743IMC        Modified 2/1/2010

2/1/2010 was probably the date on my Outlook.pst file before I did this file recovery.

  • Are these files "Acronis-related", perhaps due to the aborted recovery operation?
  • Is it safe to delete these files with odd extensions?
  • Is there any way for Acronis to do this automagically?

Thanks.
