Have questions about some Tools & Utilities in Acronis True Image Home 2010 in Windows XP

Thread needs solution

Dear Sir/Madam:

When you select the Tools & Utilities section of Acronis True Image Home 2010, I have questions about when to use some of the Protection tools and Utilities.

In the Protection tools section, when do I need to use Acronis Startup Recovery Manager, One-Click Backup, and Manage Acronis Secure Zone?

In the Utilities section, when do I need to use System Clean-up, Convert Windows Backup, Convert Acronis Backup, Mount Image, Unmount Image, and Search Settings?

Please reply back soon.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Egan

You need to read through the user guide to find out what these functions do and then decide if you need them to achieve your goals.

Personally, I never use any of those tools. I do recoveries from the BootCD -- if my system disk goes south, I'llhave to restore formthe bootcd anyway so might as well make one and get some practice ;)

I don't use one click backup because all my backups run from schedules during times when I'm not using the machines.

I never use (or even crdeate) a Secire Zone. It's an unnecessary proprietary partition for string backups in. But you don't have to use it. It was originallly desitgned so folks that had only one hard disk could still make partition backups (although the backups would be of no use if the hard disk went south.

I think you'd be better off backing up to a separate drive that you store in a safe place.
