HDD Clone USB to USB

I did a clone of my 640gb notebook drive to a new 750gb notebook drive. I had already pulled the old drive out and used 2x USB3 SATA cables to connect to the desktop via USB3 to clone them. About a 5 hour run. Now the new drive will not boot in the system. Is there anyway short of installing the new drive in the system and re-clone from the old drive connected via USB to the laptop?
