Help 911 Cannot select partition when cloning

Thread needs solution

Hi,

How can I use True Image to clone my original OS drive C (34Gb worth of data in a 80 Gb HDD # 1) to an external OS drive G (150 Gb, one of 3 partitions) in a 640 Gb HDD # 2?

The key here is the option to select "destination DISK" not partition or disk and partition.

Many thanks!

True Image clones only at the disk level. It does not clone a partition.

Of course, you can always create an backup image of the partition and then restore the single backup archive. Using this method, you can achieve your goal.

Hello,
Is there still no way to directly clone a partition?
Just bought tru image 2011 + plus pack (I have dynamic disk)and it seems I can't.
I was hesitating a lot between it and norton ghost, it seems I made the bad choice (additionally plus pack does not add a full dynamic disk support contrary to what is write on the website and the box).
Or is there a way to clone a partition, for example with command line?

Referring to a basic disk. It is possible to create a backup image of an entire disk or a single partition.

That backup image can be restored (same effect as if cloned) onto a the same or a new disk. User can choose to restore only a single partition.

Be aware that if the restored partition is to be bootable, the original must have been bootable when the backup image was created. On many Windows 7 and Vista systems, the main user partition is not a standalone bootable partition.

The backup and partition restore can be done when booted from the TI Rescue CD.

These comments do not relate to dynamic disks.

Yes,I know, except it's just too time longer than a direct clone.

What do you mean by "These comments do not relate to dynamic disks."?
I was able to move a dynamic partition to another disk by backup/restore.
My main system disk and my program disk are dynamic. That's why I bought the plus pack.

My reference to dynamic disks meant that I do not have and have not tested anything that involve dynamic disks.
