Help Cloning RAID0 to separate HD partition

Thread needs solution

Ok moving my Windows 7 to a bigger hard drive. Currently I have 2 Western Digital 500 GB that are RAID0, I want to clone it to a Western Digital 3TB HD that is partioned into 2 1.5 TB. Tried running clone via Acronis 2012 and it seems to want to use the entire 3TB drive and does not give me a Partiton selection. Also the 3TB drive is set up with GPT.

Thanks!

Cloning clones the entire drive as it was. You cannot clone only a partition or to a partition. The result of a cloned disk is the same disk information on another disk.

You could, with the caverat below, use a disk and partition backup and then restore to your 1.5TB partition.

Caveat: you are moving from a RAID set up to a non RAID setup. This is a high chance of failing because the disk set up is different.

If I were you, I would simply do a fresh install.

Feel free to try though, worst case, you will get a BSOD on booting your new disk. Best case, Windows will sort out the change of disk controller.
