HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP: Acronis 2013 quit after PC Upgrade

Thread needs solution

I have upgraded my PC today!

I updated the C: Drive, mother board, the CPU and the memory.

Suddenly, it tells me I have to enter a new product id/serial number!

WHY!!!!!! I never had to do this with 2012. I've been a LONG TIME customer of Acronis and have maintained my system with all upgrades from 2011 to 2013.

In fact, this last purchase/upgrade for 2013 was a three PC license! Now my primary PC wants a new serial number? I don't understand...

Don't get so excited. This is common with many software packages, and with Windows itself, when significant hardware changes.

Did you get the "Too many activations" message? If so, deactivate that installation, after which you'll be able to re-enter the serial number to re-activate it.

Hello Jim, tuttle,

thank you for your posts.

Jim, tuttle is absolutely right. You have faced not the problem, but expected behavoir of the program.

Since your hardware was significantly changed, programm sees your PC as completely new one. Now you just need to move your license to this "new" computer.

Please follow this instruction to assign your installation to new hardware.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
