Help - Really Stuck!

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

First of all I use Acronis in the simplest way, as it is far too complicated for me, so this is what I do: I have an original backup of a very "Basic State" of my machine with only the bare bones installed. Then I have a second back up which is updatable if and when I want, this second backup would be more up to date, with everything installed.

My problem: The original Backup (which I call stripped) was backed up to an external drive, and I chose NOT to overwrite these files, and not to make additional backups. It is intended as a simple restore with the very basics installed, should I ever need it. so, all together, I have two backups in play (one very basic & one UPDATABLE)

I noticed a red cross and a warning on this basic backup, saying that a file couldn't be found. When I looked it was asking for a file with the extension of b2. I found this strange because all my files in this backup were b1 (Basic Win 10 (Stripped)_full_b1_s1_v1), obviously it was trying to make a second backup strange as I had asked it not to?) Anyway, I went ahead and deleted the backup job from the main Acronis window, which left the files still in tact, and still sitting on my external drive.

I am now left with my UPDATABLE backup, which reports a green tick, all OK here but I have no reference to the STRIPPED backup, which is still sitting on drive "B"

How can I "import" these files again, so they appear in Acronis again?

**Please Note** I don't want to RESTORE it, I just want it back on the Acronis main screen for future protection.

Any help would be great fellers,,,,

Thanks Again,

Ray.

This link tells how to add the tib file to your listing of backups.

http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2015/index.html#3…

Don't forget, it is the TI user created REcovery CD which is the prime restore method.

When booted to the CD, you can browse to any of your tib files and perform a restore via the CD.

Strange - When I go to Add Backup - "Add Existing Backup" and then across to the right hand pane to navigate to the external drive, I get stuck.

This is what happens:

I can see all of the files in the backup set but when I click on a file, the name is removed and a square red box replaces it, I am then offered

the chance to back up - do I take it that I have to backup EVERY file in the set individually? as I can't seem to highlight the whole lot?

Didn't want to go any further in case I am doing it wrong.....

Might be better to just un-install the program, as I can't seem to be able to do even the simplest of things!

Ah well, at least I'm trying - "For Now"

Hope you don't mind my post.......but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with this, and to be honest it sounds simple enough!
