Hidden folders not appearing even with Show Hidden enabled

Thread needs solution

I have tried repeatedly in "Configure nonstop backup process" to get hidden folders to appear as a selection, specifically appdata under C:\users\(username). All the other folders such as contacts, documents, photos, etc are there.

I have enabled show hidden folders in Windows Explorer (and even rebooted in this mode) but appdata still does not appear in the "Configure nonstop backup process" window.

Win 7 Pro/64-bit. ATHI 2012 build 6131.

Is there a solution to this? I previously did a search but can only find unrelated references to hidden folders.

I have a very similar issue with ATIH 2011 Win7 Pro/64-bit. In my case, I was able to select hidden files/folder including the C:\Users\Username\AppData folder, and it backs up successfully using NonStop Backup... HOWEVER, I cannot RESTORE this folder as it is missing, even with hidden files/folders enabled in Windows Explorer.

Again, which I hit configure backup settings from the NonStop Backup menu, it shows that the AppData folder (and ALL subfolders) are checked, but when browsing to restore, I cannot find this folder at all (or ANY hidden folder(s)). Come on guys, this seems to be a serious issue as some of this data is quite important!

Well I believe I found the issue: A BUG in ATIH 2011 in a previous build... When I checked backup settings it was showing the entire Users directory was backed up (WITH hidden files/folders enabled), even so far as to show checked boxes on the folders I was looking for, but when restoring I could not select these folders for restoration.... After updating to the latest version of ATIH 2011 when I check the configuration option it now shows a box (instead of a checkmark) next to users, and has all my users folders EXCEPT AppData which is of course the data I needed...

Word to the wise, check your backups as this software may be lying to you... It was showing it was backing up all the files I needed, but during the restore revealed that this was not the case. The glitch was fixed in the newer version, but the damage was done -- All my backups were worthless as the 10GB .PST is MIA.
