So I'm trying to test my backups by doing a restore to a second drive. Once booted to the initial screen in the boot media I have no mouse and limited keyboard. To get the USB keyboard to work I enabled legacy USB support and EHCI support (for antiquated OS hand off of USB 2.0). Once into the recovery software the keyboard only works in a limited way, with the enter key not working and only up and down arrows and tab key working. Mouse does not work. I tried two different keyboards and no luck. Then I put in a PS2 mouse and got mouse function.

So, USB has been around for a while - what's the deal? Even my BIOS uses a USB mouse and keyboard without issue.

Is this issue fixed in Home 2012? My MB only has one PS2 - so I can choose either mouse or keyboard but not both.
