Home 2009 latest version (june) just fails and never recovers, can't delete archives, etc.

Thread needs solution

I think there are SERIOUS problems with the ASZ. Over and over again, it works for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, then suddenly fails, can't do ANYTHING with the ASZ after that.

The error we see now is utterly a red herring - meaning your error reporting is incorrect as well:

Considering there are no remote resources being used, this is nonsense. We are doing daily incremental backups of the C:\ drive, onto a separate drive configured as ASZ. keep 7 days. We've only used about 20% of the available space on the ASZ. That's it. No username/password ever has been involved.

Why has there been no updates to the many problems seen on the forums? We need the bugs FIXED guys.

I note that the "selected archive" is ASZ/43 - which doesn't exist and never has, as we we never have more than 7 before consolidation. And I can't seem to change that as it keeps changing back to 43.

Come on guys - give with the bugfixes already.

The next version is in beta and expected by many of us to be released in the next month or two -- so don't expect any further work on the current version, that probably ended for the most part 5 or 6 months ago.

You might consider not using an SZ since you are already backing up to external disks. There is more security and less risk of software probs if you physically lock up the harddisk rather than use a "hidden" partition. that doesn't fix what's broken but you don't want to hold your breath waiting for a fix to this version. Avoiding the SZ will probably get you around the problem in a workable way.
