Home 2010 and Win7 Issues

Thread needs solution

I just purchased and installed Acronis True Image Home 2010 on a Win7 64 bit machine. When i try to open the archive of my XP back up, which was done with True Image Home 10, I can view the folders and files but when i try to copy over a folder and all of its contents i only get the main folder and the first sub-folder but no files and no other folders.

Another issue is that every time I double click on the backup archive icon in windows explorer another window opens up and when I double click on a folder with multiple files a window for each file opens up. This is really annoying and not an windows issue because it doesn't do that with any other program.

Your problem may well be down to the fact the user and file permissions ID for your XP image are going to be different to those expected by W7.

First, are you able to open the files whilst mounted, but not by copying them onto your W7 system?

Second do any of the files or folders report themselves as zero bytes in size?

Thanks Colin for the help.

Yes I can open all files in Win7 from the XP backup and i have done the back now with THI 2010 and still have the same issue. Second i dont see any folder that is empty. I just noticed that when i dbl click on a back up to open or when i have opened a backup and it pops up the additional windows explorer window, at the top of the window it says "Please locate the last volume of the backup.". Not sure if that info is useful but thought it might help.

What happens if you mount the archive rather than using Windows Explorer?

Does the archive validate?
