Home 2010 - Backup date cannot be found error

Thread needs solution

I get this error: "Backup date cannot be found" in almost every backup - even though the backup is successful. Unfortunately this error causes every day to show as an error instead of successful.

This error also happened in 2009.

I saw a thread on this in the Wilder Security Forum - but I never saw a resolution for it.

Thanks.

Hello Jan,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I would recommend you update Acronis scheduler using the following KB article it will solve the issue you experience. Let us know the results.

This error is because for some reason a task changes from Full Backup to Add to existing archive with the filename that the task is generating today. Are you saying that this error is fixed by running this update of Scheduler? I don't want to run it then have to recreate all my tasks, along with getting errors from the former tasks unless it fixes the problem noted above.

Thanks.

I have the same problem. I am running full backups and using the automatic consolidation feature to limit the number of backups. The backups complete normally and the consolidation works as advertised. The problem however is that the calendar shows the backups as failing and if you go to the log you find the error noted in the thread title. In my case the error does not occur until the consolidation limit is reached. Every backup after that shows the error and the failed icon.

I ran the scheduler update as recommended above and nothing changed. As noted in the Jan's second post when you edit the task and look in the "backup location" section the selection has been changed from the original "create a new backup" to "add to an existing backup" and in my case it that name changes to the latest backup run. Having watched the system run on explorer the new backup is completed before any consolidation attempt is made which makes sense. If you look at the log, the back up completes, and the error then occurs when the deletion of the oldest backup is attempted. As noted above however the deletion actually occurs.

I'm running TI - 2010, latest build. I'm running Vista 64. I had the same problem with 2009 but since consolidating full backups was directly supported I just assumed the problem was because of the work around people were using.

My issue is that if you're providing a calendar and a quick way of viewing how your backups have performed then you need to fix that so it shows in fact what is happening. I don't think the error is a valid one given the system, at least in my case, is performing correctly.

I am running TI - 2010 on XP Home, scheduling full backups with a limit of three. I am getting the identical error.

I am receiving the same error "Backup date cannot be found". I run 1 full backup and 4 incremental backups on 2 different drives in the same system and it generates the error after the 4th operation.

I can't tell if the backup is valid if I attemt to restore in the event of a failure - how do you do this.

How can the problem be corrected? It would be a data disaster if the images created could not be used to restore the drive (after alll that's what I paid for the product to do).

What you are describing sounds like a different issue than the issue involved in this post. I'm not sure what you mean by the 4th operation - are you talking about the 4th incremental or the 4th step in the backup? Are you running 2 separate tasks for each disk?
