Home 2010 Plus Pack crashes on weekly backups

Thread needs solution

I have a weekly backup set up to run on Saturday nights at 7 PM.

This backup is only for my crucial data directories under Windows XP (Documents and Settings, Downloads, My_Stuff).

Each week it is supposed to create a new full backup on one hard drive (.tib file) and a reserve copy flat files on another hard drive.

Each week it starts as it should, but somewhere during the scheduled backup the program ALWAYS crashes. It starts out with crazy time estimates like 44,000 days and works its way down to 2 days or so and crashes, guaranteed.

I have to reboot the computer and manually restart the backup. Usually, it will proceed normally and finish without crashing after doing this, but not always.

I have an incremental backup that starts every night at 5 PM and it always works just fine. It's only the weekly backup described above that gives me headaches. I have tried deleting this backup in Acronis and remaking it from scratch several times, but it always crashes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my paltry 30 days of tech support via the phone has long since expired.

Hello William,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will do my best to assist you.

To understand why the program crashes we will need to study Dr. Watson dump files. I shall follow-up with a private message in a few minutes with the proper instructions, because to collect Acronis True Image 2010 Home crash dumps we will need to replace certain files.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
