Home Image 10 6029 and Windows 7
Having run HI9 and W7 RC succesfully for about 5 months I installed my retail copy of W7 Professional together with HI 10.
What a performance!
Each time I ran it the machine would lock up and I had to hit the reset button. This caused my RAID management software to decide to verify the volume which took 4 hours.
So a clean install - again - nothing else added. I did a full backup of partition C and this worked.
I like to move the User folder to D which effectively means all my data is on that partition. However, HI 10 now stops after about 2 minutes and locks the machine solid. I've uninstalled (and checked the registry) and reinstalled. Same thing happens. But it WILL backup Drive D!
I will try tonight from the boot cd but has anybody got any idea why moving the User folder might cause this?
Looking at some of the posts here I suppose I should be thankful it works at all :-)

No, you're not alone. I posted this in other forums:
I have used True Image for the past five years. Never have I had problems like these. I am now using Windows 7 X64 (native) and TIH just won't have it. I have created backups successfully but cannot restore ANY image. TIH crashes every time I select an image to restore. All versions of TIH 2010 crash including boot CD versions. THIS PROGRAM IS SUPPOSED TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF MY DATA? Acronis needs to re-think how they're handling the release of this product. This isn't a spreadsheet program, folks. It's a backup of my whole f*****g system!

Could you please post the builds and language versions you are using, as that will help in guessing/knowing how we can help.
Assuming it is not build 5055, I would suggest trying to download this build and after uninstalling the current build, install 5055 and see if it works better for you.
If you go to your account, 5055 will not show up, but if you substitute 5055 for 5069 in the download title you should get 5055. This is for the US English language build only, other languages and UK English may have different build numbers.

Where in the UI do you go to see what version you are running?
If you want to download 5055 then you need to enter 5069 in the search field, how messed up is that?!

For the build number hit the Alt key and the familiar menu with Help will appear near the top.

Precisely. That's why I've had enough. I'm also running Windows 7 x64.
I've now been using DiskClone Pro for just over 24 hours and can report no problems whatsoever. It doesn't look very pretty but who cares - it works.

I'm jumping ship as well. It's unfortunate because TrueImage used to "just work", now it's "just broke". I can no longer reliably and confidently trust backup and recovery of my system and data to this fickle application nor can I recommend this application to anyone else looking to do so.

I'm gone as well! TI 2010 trashed my RAID Volume and that was enough. I've move over to Storage Protect and couldn't be happier.

It's just done the same to my Adaptec Raid arrays! Both gone! They appear to have been overwritten (or the partition information transferred) from other disks on the system.
Best part is neither the RAID arrays, not the disks that seem to have lent their partition information were even involved in the restore I was trying to do using the rescue disk! It simply went berserk!
I.5 TB of data!
I'm using Win XP.

i have down loaded this version but can not get it to start under windows 7.0 is there any trick to getting it to work in windows 7?

William, which build of 2010 have you downloaded? Current build is 6053.
When you say it won't start, do you get the Windows debug message, the gui appear and then disappear or seemingly nothing happening after you click on the shortcut icon?
Have you installed TI for all users or just fro your account?
Do any of the TI services appear in either services and in Windows task manager?
Which version of W7 are you running?

That is not what I typed.

Sadly I'm leaving for another solution. The corrupted archive is what we call a "showstopper" and the product should be pulled from distribution untill it's patched/fixed.
I think we would all understand the complexities of Win 7 IF the powers to be would simply admit they have a bug, provide a temporary workaround and then devote the resources for a fix ASAP.
I find it insulting that they play the diagnostic game and complex flow charts when in fact it's obvious that we have some experienced users to help them. The diagnostic game is cheaper then actually fixing it I guess
System: Win 7 pro/64 bit RTM
Latest build of TI
Rock solid perfect system
BU from rock solid boot drive to internal second rock solid drive. Fast WD black drives
INTERMITTENT fail to validate corrupted archive. Roughly the validate fails after 4 to 5 runs
System is idle since I'm sleeping. NO other tasks are running
Restart before I go to bed
I'm not going to waste any more time on this issue which is really sad. It's much easier to find another solution and in my case it's a cheap box running WHS.

Hello all,
Please accept our profound apologies for the delay with the response.
unhappycamper, let me help you with the issue.
First of all, I may suggest you to check your PC's memory for the errors as it may be the possible reason of the issue.
- Download the memtest utility:
-
Click Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)
-
Unpack the downloaded archive;
-
Burn the ISO file to a CD (see Burning an ISO Image);
(!) Please make sure you burn the file as an Image to have the CD bootable;
-
After that boot your machine from the media and memtest will start automatically.
If the memory module is faulty there will appear an error count in the Errors column.
Secondly: please try to validate the created backup using Acronis Bootable Media. Please check Chapter 15 of the User's Guide on how to create it.
Please reply to this thread and let me know the results of the validation and memtest.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
