HOTFIX 2 Available for ATIH 2011 ver 6868

Thread needs solution

I applied the hotfix for ver 6868. Help About now says that it is now version 6879.

Does anyone know if this update also updates the WINPE/Bartpe, and Bootable rescue versions that you can create?

Also is the "Product native bootable media" on the web page upgraded to the newer version?

Looks like another confusing update from Acronis. Why start a different process now???

Please reply.

An open response to Terry,

I have read a few of your posts related to these hotfixes. None of them have received replies that answer your questions. Questions that are good and relevant (and shared by me).

The best response you got was along the lines of "hopefully in the future, Acronis will be better about providing details about this new "hotfix" implementation." Hopefully, yes. Helpful, not so much.

I don't believe that no one out there has a link, or some other form of information about these hotfixes and what to do with them. I can think of several Acronis forum masters (people whom I've grown to trust and pay very close attention to over the years) that normally would have been all over your questions (MudCrab, can you hear me? Oleg?...). If they know what's up, they'd have replied to at least one of your hotfix posts by now, and this worries me.

We are not talking about some regular, or even important, piece of software like Office or The Sims. This is a program that most of us use to recover our systems in times of disaster. Some of us want to know what a hotfix is/does before we apply it, including the potential problem it fixes in the first place. Certainly, your question related to whether we need to update our plus pack and/or rescue media should be answered.

This whole thing is bizarre.
