How to Backup Firefox Bookmarks and Internet Explorer Favorites

Thread needs solution

I am a neophyte when it comes to personal computers so you may have to excuse the following question:

Can anyone say how I would backup Firefox Bookmarks and IE Favorites?

Thank you.

To Find Your Firefox Profile:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information.
The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
Under the Application Basics section, click on Show Folder. A window with your profile files will open.

For Firefox it is best to back up the entire "Profiles" folder. Not only the bookmarks are saved but all settings and extensions etc.

Windows Favorites Location:

C:/Users/Your Account Name/Favorites

Backup the "Favorites" folder

In ACRONIS:

Click on File Backup and drill down to the above folders

Hi Cramrellim

in adition to Chloes answer: FF does store its favorites in the file "places.sqlite" . You can find this file in the profile folder (see Chloes help).
