How can I delele file in tib image?

Thread needs solution

With Norton Ghost 11.05 (in DOS) after backup image, use Ghost Explorer to delete and complice image. We will have new backup image without deleted file.

But with TIH 2011, Can I delete one file in tib and save the tib?

You can mount the image if you have a disk and backup image, and delete the file. ATI will create an incremental TIB file to reflect the changes.

YOu can also double click on the file and use Windows Explorer. This works for a disk and partition backup, and for a file backup.

Thank you! I'll try later.

Can you make the interface easy to use true image when make restore files ?
Many people said they found difficult to use the program interface so they've used Norton Ghost for DOS or Onekey.
Forum not to post images so I can not post images for you to understand.

Mei,

You can attach an image (JPG, or BMP) to your post.

I created the disk partition image file (tib file), set a password for this file.
I mount tib file to the hard disk (virtual), open virtual disk, try to delete one file, but can not delete files.
Please see attached picture!

Mei,

When you mounted the image, did you select the read-write mode? YOu can see this option when you select which partitions to mount.

Thank you!
As I said I always make FULL backup image with one partion disk.
I saw incremental TIB file as you said!
But I want only one TIB file for save when I make change with TIB file (mount image as we said above) . I do not want save incremental TIB file.
Can ATI 2011 do that?

You need to consolidate it, that will merge full and incremental to new full, then will delete the old full.
*disregard the above*
From userguide, in smallprint-
Acronis True Image Home 2011 cannot consolidate backup versions created when "editing" partition images mounted in the Read/Write mode.
So you can't do it.

But if we do not choose Read/Write mode, we can not delete file in TIB file if mount TIB file!
I try with Norton Ghost Explorer 11.0.5, I can do that! We can delete file in image file and save image file. I think ATI 2011 can do that too.

ATI 2011 will create an incremental file if you edit an image as well.

Mei,
can you please edit your previous post so it doesn't show my email address? The forum software is showing this error now.

Thanks

For example: I have partion.TIB file (2 GB size). I mount it (read only mode) I delete some files in this TIB.
ATI 2011 make incremental partion1.TIB file (only 9 MB size) (save the same with location partion.TIB)
We have two file TIBs now!

No, I want to save as partion1.TIB file with full size (not incremental ) and I can use only partion1.TIB for restore (I will delete partion.TIB). Then I will have partion1.TIB file with 1.8 GB size (for example)

I know that Norton Ghost can make that and I think ATI can do that too. Maybe ATI 2012 can do that!

Mei,

Thanks for editing the post.

2011 will not do it. Now, you can see it as advantageous: you can restore the edited image OR the image without edits.

Could you send my opinion for next version of ATI 2012:

More option of mount file:
1. Save as full image, do not make incremental TIB file)
2. Save image (make incremental TIB)

Thank all you replied me and I stop here!

Mei,

Good input. You should post your suggestion in the wish list here:
