How to clean up backup list

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Just installed TM 2015. When I start it, the Backup screen lists all my past backups, most of them no longer exist. There are hundreds of them. I definitely don't want to remove them one by one. End even if I remove them manually - some of them come back.

How do I clean up the backup list? Can I re-scan my backup somehow (I think this option used to be in the past), or there is an INI file somewhere? Or perhaps in registry?

Also, I don't see anymore how to mark some backups as favorites so they will be visible in the list, and hide the rest of them? This was available in TM 2014.

Thank you.

Peter,
Help us to understand what happened.

Did you do a fresh install starting with no TrueImage present ,
or did you upgrade over an existing installation?

If you upgraded, did you have all these unwanted tasks on the old version, which was ????

There is no setting to turn the scan on or off but there is a registry setting
that may help to keep them from coming back--once you have deleted them manually.

If using Win7 64 bit, you may find the registry settings inside
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Settings
The registry setting "ScanComputerAtStartup" should have a "0" setting to be disabled.

You can try clearing the database history. This will remove all your current tasks so you main menu listing is empty.
Not sure this will help with 2015 but you can try after setting the registry setting to 0.

GH55. Delete Database History Archives.xml.

Another option, if a prior TI was installed would be to run the 2015 cleanup utility and stat over with a fresh install.

Let us know the results.
