How to clean incremental scheduled backups ?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I did not found any help in the software nor the faq by searching "cleaning shedule backup/ incremental backup cleaning / delete tib / delete backups / archives" ETC..
So I have a simple question : How can I delete the weekly sheduled backup to keep only last month (~4 incr. backups) ?
I read somewhere that deleting those bakcups randomly could lead to corrupt backups.

Thank you

Backups are created in sets. The base)full) plus the incrementals are incrementally numbered starting with 2.

If you delete an older (lower) number, the chain is broken and all the more recent (higher) numbers are useless. So, the point being that you do not delete incrementals.

If you wish to create differentials, the differential can be deleted in that you only need the base (full) plus any differential you wish to keep.

Create a new task and a new backup set and begin anew. You may wish to consider the consolidation feature found in the user guide.
