How to delete correctly files in a synchronized folder
I use the new fuction ATI 2012 to synchronize my work-folder on the harddisk with an external usb hdd. This works very well. But now i'd like to delete some files. I did it by stoppping the atutomatic synchronization, and then deleted the file on the local hdd as well as on the usb hdd, because otherwise the file would be synchronized back if i delete it in just one folder.
Now I've got the message that the file I deleted is skipped an I should have a look at the log file. Where ist it?
But what really want to know is, how I correctly delete a file or folder from my synchronized folder?
Best regards,
Michael

Some Clarification:
If I delete/move a folder/file on one box, will it delete/move on the other?
When I make changes on BOTH boxes when not connected, how will it handle that? Only sync from the Master? Prompts?
Do I need more than one license? I have at least three PCs I would like to keep synced. Will multiple licenses allow me to execute the prior situation effectively?
Why won't it sync .pst files from Outlook? I can do this manually now wiith Windows Explorer or MuCommander (or any other file manager, for that matter). Of course I remove Outlook from memory before copying.
I have found prior versions confusing to use, and they end up just sitting there. I use use Win Backup (I have XP, Vista, and 7-- I have rearranged the folder structure to accomodate most of the differences).
Would really like to take advantage of the upgrade if it meets my needs.
Thanks

Be very careful when deleting files. If you delete a file in Folder A, ATI repeats the delete in Folder B. If you then put a file in Folder A with the same name of the file you previously deleted, ATI will delete the file in Folder A. And no, it won't be in the recycle bin. The new file is lost.

I am having some of the same problems when I delete a file or files from Disk A, It shows up again after the auto sync.

I am using True Image Home 2012.

Hello Preston,
Thank you for using Acronis software.
You should delete the file from both machines that share synchronization. Also you can set cleanup rules for this by right-clicking on the Synchronization folder, at Acronis True Image Home´s Synchronization Tab - cleanup options.
If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know. Thank you, have a good day.

Hi Miquel,
Thank you for the info. I have deleted the files from both sides and it is running a sync right now. As far as the cleanup rules, I see no options for this after I right-click on the Synchronization folder under the Synchronization Tab. Is this an option for 2012? I would prefer to just tell it to delete both sides when I delete from the main drive.
thanks so much!
