How to disable Nonstop Backup
I do not need a Nonstop Backup and I would like to just backup once a week with an ordinary backup. Unfortunately, I clicked on the nonstop backup and I have not found a way to disable it. Can somebody please help. Thanks Helga

To disable non stop backup go to "services" and click on non stop backup. Then click on "stop service". Then double click on non stop backup and open the "start up type" dropdown window. Select disable. This is about the only thing that has worked for me in 2011. I'm having the same problems with backups as other posters are noting and Try And Decide won't work. Also, one click backup won't retain your customized settings. The one good thing they did was to come out with a cleanup tool for 2011 which worked perfectly to uninstall it.
I hope the people at Acronis are seeing these problems and doing something about it. There are some good features in 2011 from the earlier versions, but the hassle to keep redoing things is getting to be too much.

Brand new here, and Non-Stop Backup is slowing my older XP, so I also would like to disable it. However, embarassingly, I can't even find "services ".
Thanks,
Steve

Hello Steve,
Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! There's nothing embarassing, services location information is rather specific, but don't worry, I'll guide you through.
In order to find NonStop backup service, please go to Start -> run and type there services.msc and hit Enter. This will get you to the services Windows. Please filter the services by name, right click on the one that contains "NonStop" in it and choose "Disable".
Let us know if you have any questions, we will be glad to help you!
Thank you!

Hi Yana,
That is too complicated. Suggest you need to make it easier to turn off non stop backup.
Thank You.

Installing a TrueImage Home 2011 upgrade today changed my settings without asking. I've yet to determine the full extent of the changes, but most annoyingly, it turned on Non-Stop Backup. Took forever to figure out how to stop it again without driving a stake through its heart. Just to be able to use the computer, I had to disconnect the backup disk and kill the associated running processes... Always a last resort, I know, but the only way to regain control! Finally I was able to come here and search around. I finally found Yana's instructions to Daryl. Bless you, Yana.
Bottom line: If at all avoidable, suggest you refrain from allowing an upgrade to change user settings... and of course by all means implement Daryl's suggestion re: A facility within the application to toggle Non-Stop Backup on and off.
All that said, I love this program. It's saved my bacon several times and I'd have trouble getting along without it. Sincere thanks and congratulations to the True Image Home 2011 team!

John,
It is better to consider an upgrade like a different software installation. Uninstall the previous version, reboot, install the new version and start new backup tasks.
From what we see in the forums, upgrading in place is creating some issues. I am sure we only see the issues of course...

Pat: Hi. My home 2011 was a complete reinstall on a fresh reinstall of win 7 pro. I ma glad to see that I wasn't the only one who couldn't easily find a "turn off nonstop backup
command.
