How do I check my backups
I'm using True Image 11 build 8.101
I make my full backup to an external Harddrive.
I would like to know how do I check/view the backup on the external drive
Thanks,
Frank

You have to run a validation either as part of the backup or separately. Use the Backup Validation wizard. See http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5566#comment-11833 and http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=240737 for some explanations.

You can validate using TI in Windows but that is not the critical test. Boot up the TI rescue CD and do the validation with it.
The reason is that if you restore the active partition, typically C, Windows cannot be running. The TI rescue CD is a version of Linux and it does not use the same drivers and environment that Windows does and it may not be happy with your hardware. It is essential you try the CD version and confirm it does work on your PC. After you have done a successful validate with the CD Linux version you can then just use the Windows version for validation. If you change the backup devices, for example, to a different USB drive then you should run the CD version again to confirm it is happy with the different drive.
The absolute best test is to get a spare HD (spare in case it doesn't work) and do a complete restore. This tests the entire process of restoring a drive. However, if you don't want to do this then validating with the CD is the next best thing.

Thanks,
I'm a little confused.
Above is my original question.
My backup is on an external hard drive (lets say Drive (E:) and during the process TI validates it and says that the back up is successful.
My question is can I open the backup on drive E: and look at it.
Sorry to be a pest but I do not understand.
Thanks.

Yes you can. Right click on the file and select Mount. The mount process will give you another drive letter which you can explore withe Windows explorer.
