How do I clone a RAID 0 to a single drive?

Thread needs solution

I have been running two 500gb drives in RAID 0 configuration for a few months now. I understand that there is zero redundancy with RAID 0 so I purchased a single 1TB drive and wish to clone the RAID array to the 1TB drive.

I purchased ATIH 2010, installed it, and attempted to run the program. I unfortunately receive an error message that ATIH "does NOT support dynamic discs", or something to tha effect.

If ATIH does not recognize the RAID 0 array, how am I supposed to proceed with cloning?

Thanks

Hello Miles,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience. But first please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

Please create a screen shot of Disk Management (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management) and attach it to your next reply.

Also please attach Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

As workaround I may suggest you download ISO image of Acronis bootable disc from your account, then create rescue media and use it for cloning purposes. Please download ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting. You can also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media if there an issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Check the following KB article for more details.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Looking forward for your reply.

I to need help raid O. 1 of raid O drives going bad and they are c: drive ( NFTS) and D:drive (FAT 32) with win xp recover image from mfg. Both drives are 250 gb and i would like to replace with one 500 gb. How do I get info from raid drive C: and D: and put it on a single drive. I think that after that all I would have to do is remove raid set up in BIOS and restart ? Is this correct? I have home 2011. ( does home 2012 address this?)

Doug,

Restoring the image of a RAID0 setup to a non RAID might not work, and Windows might BSOD. You might be able to fix this by reinstalling windows on top your restored image.

This is because there is change of driver for the disk controller.

If this doesn't work, you could purchase the ACronis Plus Pack and try to use universal restore, but it is not an easy path.

If I were you, I would reinstall everything.
