How do I disable/stop Acronis Scheduler Helper

Thread needs solution

The 'Scheduler Helper" is inhibting a needed application. I could find no mention of the helper app. I used Task Manager to "End Process" for that app and 'Acronis helper 2'. Tey were both restarted almost immediately. Is there a way to stop this other than goling to manual scheduling?

Bud,

Acronis has 4 or 5 "Services" running all the time.  You can go into "Settings" -> Services and stop the service, as required.  Be advised that scheduled backups will not run if the Scheduler Service is turned off.

FtrPilot,

Could you be a bit more specific? I run TI mainly from Win7 (Win10Pro is also installed on my PC, but I hate it), and in Win7, my 'Startup'-folder is empty, and Scheduler Service Helper is not on my program list.

I do not do incremental backups, use other devices, or backup to the Cloud; I just prefer to do a full manual backup of my SSD from time to time.

A lot of stuff gets set up automatically (like Cloud) but I don't need most of that. And I hate to have stuff running in the background, when I don't see the use of it, and have no control over it. I have uninstalled TI, rebooted twice (SSH still showed at shutdown) and reinstalled it. Apparently, TI's previous setup info was retained in spite of the uninstall.

Where can I find the 'Settings/services' you mentioned, in Win7? I would like to permanently disable unnecessary processes.

AMCW, please see KB document: 44350: Acronis True Image 2015/2014: Processes and Services which has information on each of the Acronis Services and Processes (aka programs).

To see the Services, please click on Start then in the Run box, type services.msc which will launch the Services snap-in console to allow you to control which services will run.

As noted previously by FtrPilot, if you disable the Acronis Scheduler2 service, then this may stop your backups from running - you should test the impact of any changes that you make.

Thanks for your reply. It shed some light on how to control my PC again. That annoying Schedule Helper does not show up anymore, when I shut down the PC, and that is a great relief!

I do only local, manual backups with no scheduled backups. I have been using services to close those ATI services I don't need.  Now ATI2017 has added 2 more MOBILE services.  I would like some way to tell Acronis at startup NOT to start Mobile or sechedular services.  Failing that maybe a batch or powershell program that will close all of them?  Seems like a waste of resources to run these services when I don't need them.

JKnight, please see the MVP User Tools folder on Google Drive which has batch command files you can use to start or stop all the Acronis Services as needed.
