How do I remove Acronis True Image 2015 backup versions?
How do I remove Acronis True Image 2015 backup versions?
I am using True Image 2015. My backup drive is full. I know if I delete some of the older versions through windows I will have issues with TI. How can this basic housekeeping task be accomplished? The doc says use the tools and gives no further guidance.
Thanks

Garbage software. Whoever thought this was in a fit state for public release?

I am very disappointing in this version. I "upgraded". It has by far the WORST user interface I have seen in very long time.

GH64. 71342: 2015 How to save a non-scheduled task.
Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.
Editing an existing task is not recommended. Better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder.
Version 2015 provides no tools to delete backups from an existing chain. It only provides for the deletion of the complete chain.
Suggest you setup a new task with automatic cleanup.

John,
You might find this helps. Although this was applicable to TI2014 I suspect 2015 will be similar. No matter how careful you are a situation will arise where Acronis thinks backups exist or wants to create folders for backups you have deleted.

I found deleting the .xml file that holds this data gives Acronis a 'clean sheet'. Just do what you have to do deleting files and folders in your backup location and then delete (or edit) the Acronis file. Then open Acronis and let it rebuild its index.
I have not encountered ANY issues in doing this and I use Acronis daily for backups, and often restore my drive after trying software etc.
